Keychron K5 Max QMK/VIA Wireless Custom Mechanical Keyboard

This is by far the best keyboard I've ever had. I did my research with AI defined the one I should get. I'm glad I did this first! I type about a hundred words a minute and do a lot of document creation as well as coding. This keyboard keeps up with me in the tactile feedback is wonderful.

I would give this product a higher rating if the key caps were shine through. I saw that ither versions of the K5 QMK (non max) all had shine through key caps and foolishly assumed this keyboard would too. The MAX branding makes one think that you are getting every feature available for the series… but it doesnt. Bot being able to see the keys in the dark is a hyge pain and now I have to order another set of caps, a huge pain and very wasteful if you ask me. Why would Keychron do this? In genuinely baffled.

Amazing feel and typing / backlight seriously lacking

The overall look and feel of the keyboard is fantastic, the key travel and feel are superb, the weight is good and the typing experience is excellent. The area I'm almost furious about is the keycaps. While they look good in the daylight, low-light gaming or typing is impossible without an external light, the keycaps are NOT shine through, so the only area that's backlit is the space between the keycaps, defeating 90% of the purpose of the pretty good RGB backlighting this keyboard has. The low-profile Gateron switch keycap support online is laughably weak, and I wish in the future it is improved, so this awesome keyboard can really set apart from competitors, because right now I would rather sacrifice a little typing experience for the visibility, customizability and looks of the actual keycaps.
