Warming and cozy desert tea
I steeped 3 grams in 12 ounces of 212 degree water for 3 minutes. This produced scrumptious brew of aromatic warming dessert spices blended expertly with a very smooth and only slightly earthy Puerh tea. I love how just the right amount of spices used make this tea perfectly balanced and deliver a delicious choir of flavors to my tastebuds. When I sometimes have blends with whole cloves the tea can be astringent, so I especially appreciate how smooth this one is. With the addition of the cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom, this cup just feels so homey and makes me want to cuddle up with it underneath a blanket! It really does taste like a gently spiced cake! I would recommend this to anyone who likes cozy dessert teas.

Liquid Cake
The dry leaf immediately sets the mood, with large pieces of clove and a warm cinnamon-forward aroma. Once brewed, the tea turns a deep, rich brown—the kind of color that perfectly matches its Spice Cake name. The earthy pu-erh provides a grounding base for the spices, allowing them to shine without becoming sharp or overwhelming. Cinnamon and cardamom add warmth and depth, while clove lingers gently on the finish. The body is smooth with low astringency, making this an easy, comforting cup. I added a small splash of cream, which didn’t take away from any of the flavor and instead gave the tea a soft, cake-like richness. This is the kind of tea that feels made for snuggling up by a fire on a cold afternoon, when you want something cozy and spiced without being heavy—like a slice of spice cake in a teacup.

Cozy & Festive Blend for Anytime of Year
🍰 Spice Cake — Hummingbird Tea Company 🐝🫖 I’ve tried several blends from Hummingbird Tea Company and have truly enjoyed so many of them, and Spice Cake is another cozy favorite. The moment it steeps, it brings back memories of baking spice cookies at Christmas during childhood — warm cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger filling the kitchen, softened by gentle vanilla sweetness. Each sip is smooth, comforting, and perfectly spiced, especially delicious with the cinnamon coffee cake creamer and drizzle of honey I added to my second cup. If you love dessert-inspired teas with a nostalgic holiday feel, this one is pure comfort in a cup 🤍🎄.
