It smells like a chai lover’s dream. Ginger, cardamom, and clove rise first, and I can’t help but pause to inhale deeply and appreciate the full spectrum of spices in the blend. Rooibos is the dominant scent, while the spices come together and gently dance in the background. The peppermint adds a lovely highlight — subtle enough that, without knowing it was there, I’m not sure I would have identified it outright. I had planned to make this into a latte, until I realized while it was steeping that I was completely out of soy milk. A fortunate discovery, as this chai truly shines on its own. No sweetener is needed. The cup is smooth, with just the right peppery bite lingering at the finish. It’s a deeply satisfying way to end the evening.
