Hand forged by 5th generation blacksmith Yasuhide Maeda. These knives are named after the Japanese black [Kuro] heron [Sagi].
These are rustic knives with a nashiiji (pear skin), kurouchi finish which helps with the food release.

Awesome knife. Tang had a little bend ~1/16” but I was able to straiten it with a torch and my vise. I did my first burn-in wa handle (home made) from cedar and walnut for a ferrule. cuts like a laser. love it.
