The Stork Brought Them
I am a retired obstetrician, and was so honored to care for moms and deliver 1000's of babies in my career. My souls home is in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado (and across the Colorado Plateau). In retirement I started doing Colcha Embroidery. As it likely originated in Spanish homes in New Mexico and Colorado, it grounds me to the landscape I love. When I read the stories about the Stork scissors I see often I knew I had to have a pair. While I don't need them to cut umbilical cords any longer, I will use them with love while doing Colcha Embroidery. The scissors I received are delicate, beautiful, functional works of art. Thanks to Ciselier and the artisans they use.

I waited, but you shouldn’t :)
These were a Christmas gift from a friend after I’d admired them for ages but never bought them for myself. Turns out, I REALLY should have. They’re beautifully made and feel great in the hand: sharp, precise, and perfectly sized for detailed work. The petite shape makes it easy to get right where you need to without feeling clumsy, and they cut cleanly all the way to the tip. The ease of cutting is especially nice as I have a titch of arthritis in my thumb joint during the colder months. I also love that they feel special without being precious. They’re elegant, yes, but also genuinely useful; the kind of tool you reach for often and enjoy using every time. A small luxury that actually earns its place in your kit. If you’ve been eyeing these and hesitating like I did, this is your sign.

History repeating itself….❤️
My Grandmother had these scissors hanging on a wee hook inside her cupboard door….always! The tradition continues as I gift them to each of our 4 adult children!
