Hojicha Powder

Strange and adventurous tea, tastes kind of like matcha but earthier and a very unapologetic shade of milky brown. Nice in a latte with a touch of maple syrup but not too much. Definitely unique!

I wish the packaging for a tea powder like this came with instructions on how to properly use it. I've had to search online and because this powder might be different from others I feel like I wasted some trying to figure out the best ratios to use it. Otherwise, the Hojicha powder is very taste and I really enjoy the tea lattes that I've made once I figured it out! It also froths into the most gorgeous brown color, which is a nice bonus!

I really like the earthy, interesting flavor of this. It's a nice change from black chai tea or matcha, my usual tea selections. I make a latte with this and oatly, and sometimes add some honeycomb candy to the oatly foam (I saw this done with an espresso drink in SF's japantown), or brown sugar to the tea itself. I wish there was more info about the caffeine level and sourcing of the tea on the product page.
