Best Elberta Beach Baby’s Breath Slayer Yet
This is my third summer helping to defeat the invasion of Baby’s Breath at Elberta Beach, MI. The heavy all-steel spades and standard shovels available the first year were adequate, but took a lot of effort per plant. The following Spring I found a standard Root Slayer at a local nursery. Its inverted cutting tip blade was far superior to what I’d been using. Later I ordered the Root Slayer XL and found that its long, straight handle was much more comfortable to use. However, in both cases it can still be difficult to reach and sever the tap root which is the key to eliminating Baby’s Breath. This Spring I found the Root Slayer Drain Spade XL. Its cutting tip is the same size as the original Root Slayer’s, but the blade is slimmer and 3.5 inches longer. The new blade makes it much easier to reach and sever the tap root on the first kick and to reach the root at all in drifted sand.

Root Slayer Drain Spade XL
I've been wanting to purchase a drain spade for awhile now and am so glad Root Slayer has made one because they are the best quality tools I've come across. I love mine.

Love this digger for moving plants around the garden. Really slays the roots.
