BullseyeBore Core Green CG1-101

Bullseyebore has been excellent for drilling straight holes without needing guides on the work piece. It's a "visual alignment system" that doesn't touch your work piece. You don't need to hold anything in place or use a bulky guide or jig, which I appreciate. A few things that might be helpful to know: 1) The laser is designed for indoor use (there's info about this in the product description if you want to check compatibility with your workspace). 2) The alignment circles appear when the drill is spinning - you spin it up, align the circles, then start drilling. It's easy and becomes natural after a couple of tries. 3) For bits longer than 4", the extended models would be better suited than the entry level ones. 4) For work surfaces under 4" wide, the alignment circles may extend beyond the edge. You can simply clamp a piece of scrap wood behind the work surface as a backer board like some reviewers recommend or get one of those work surface extension plates.

Plastic with a chip in it. Seems too delicate as is. Would prefer a metal rectangle with just a battery, wires, and some led lights in it.
