Sturdier metallic and hard plastic is better than elastic rubber version

I initially was going to buy the soft elastic rubber version, but after reading online complaints about the scan code eventually 'rubbing off', I opted for the updated premium version that has the metallic-like frame with the scan code encased in hard durable clear plastic. So far, I am very happy with this version as the scan code is more resistant to rain and friction with let less chance of scan code damage or distortion. I tested the scan code and the info is relayed via the app pretty quickly--giving a pretty close to (if not exact) location. If a 'good Samaritan' scans the tag after finding your lost pet, you are instantly notified of your pets location--(even if the good Samaritan doesn't use the phone number to contact you that is also listed on a separate I.D. tag) All around, this is just another useful tool that may help to retrieve your pet if he is ever lost. No pet retrieval system is 100% guaranteed...but this is a great and inexpensive tool that may help safe guard your pet if he is ever goes missing. The only drawback is that in order for this to work, it requires someone to find, and get close enough to approach your pet...then, use a smart phone camera to scan the code on the dog's collar. That said...I still highly recommend "Hey Buddy"!
