Having an MFL thread on the tailpiece instead of barbs allows you to switch out different length lines for different carbonation levels. Just make sure your shank is very tight and your wingnut holding the tailpiece is extremely tight (borderline over-tightened) or else the tailpiece will turn when you are trying to work on it
