Spiral Cutterhead for DeWalt DW735 13" thickness Planer OEM size

Highly recommend

I had put a Sheartak helical cutter head installed in my DeWalt 735 in Guelph (Sheartak installed it for free when I dropped the planer off at their shop in Waterloo) about 1.5 yrs ago and have been very happy with it. When I was setting up another shop at our new home in British Columbia (a home that came with a DeWalt 735 with straight knives) I was reminded of the reason for doing this. Using the planer with straight knives after getting used to the Sheartak head really highlighted the difference. So I ordered another helical head. It arrived within days. I installed it and it has been great. Much quieter, and much smoother results (far less tear-out). The internet is full of people saying a helical head is well worth the investment and I am here to agree. Sheartak has been great to deal with. Prompt and valuable customer support. Thank you.

Great product

This does exactly what it's designed to do. Installation could be a little rough if your not mechanically inclined and have a healthy tool box but it's doable if you take your time. The noise reduction alone is enough of a reason to do it. I do have a chipped cutting edge already though.

Install is straight forward, might need to rotate a couple carbide inserts after first few passes to correct any lines, otherwise good overall cutter
