Not life changing, but definitely great to have

I am a strong Protan and was pleasantly surprised at all the red hues there are to see in the world! Sunsets and autumn leaf colors take on a whole different meaning. Browns look like something other than a dark shade of green, greens pop a bit more, and red traffic lights really look red! People that have normal color vision do not know how lucky they are. With that said, though having these glasses is a great experience, I don't consider the color correction to be a must have at this point in my life. Nice...but not essential. I certainly did not start crying when I put them on. ;-) I was going to return the glasses, but what flipped it for me is that these glasses are absolutely the very best sunglasses I have ever owned. Aside from the color correction, everything just "pops". Lens quality is excellent...no distortion or apparent degradation in visual acuity like what happens with cheap sunglasses. Fit is good (larger adult male facial features), frame and lenses are lightweight and the glasses are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. As a pilot, I've found that the glasses really help cut through haze/glare and help me visually acquire ground targets and other airplane traffic easier than I can with other sunglasses. The instruments I have in the airplane tolerate the polarization of the lenses. Downsides for me...they are a bit pricy. And, for something that has a high potential for loss or damage (yes, I know there is insurance) the expense seems a bit frivolous. Also, In the comparison "what color is that game" with my wife (who has excellent color acuity), I don't think I see colors quite like she sees them. Maybe I just need to learn my colors???? :-) Bottom line - if you are color blind and need great sunglasses, these are for you. Highly recommended. Easy 5-stars if they were even a little less expensive.
