Modern Flames Orion is a well designed electric fireplace that offers lots of flexibility in sizes and types of installations. The “flames” look pretty good, but the realism depends on the viewing angle, and glare off the front glass is an issue if there is light in the room. In operation, there are lots of options for different flames and embers, and the functions can be controlled from the unit itself, the included remote, or a phone app. There are a few minor issues with the instructions, and some annoying small details, such as screws that are too short for securing the unit to the framing.

The fireplace looks beautiful and has been so welcome given the wintry weather.
