Hermann Oak® Veg Tanned Strap Sides

I purchased the Hermon Oak to tool a belt. I have to say it tooled beautifully! What I was disappointed in was the quality of the leather. I was under the impression when you purchase Hermon Oak for such a high price that there would be very few if no blemishes on it. The one I received had several cuts wrinkles and marks that made my project almost impossible to complete without a blemish. I would have sent it back but the project needed to be completed. I almost think that buying an economy veg tan leather would have been better.

I was hoping for a MUCH more from a Hermann Oak side of leather. This side was much stiffer than other sides I have purchased. Seems to be very dry. Even when i case the leather for stamping it takes quite a bit for the water to absorb into the leather. The closer to the edge it was even worse on this piece but with a much deeper area than usual. Had i needed this leather for Christmas orders I would have sent it back.

Order came in quick, leather looked r really good. All ready got a couple of items cut out for a craft fair.
