These are a super fun addition to my Lomography instant camera. As mentioned in a previous review, the filters show up best in bright areas but they can also bleach out if overexposed. I think I need some practice to get my exposure right to make the most of them (I also accidentally installed this upside-down the first time) Definitely recommend them for some fun, as long as you aren't trying to produce perfect pictures!

A fun idea!

These filters are great fun, I'm surprised there haven't been more similar products over the years. They do the job as advertised, placing small hearts across the frame. As these act as filters through which the image is captured, the hearts show up more clearly in bright/well exposed areas of the image, though I guess they could bleach out entirely in very overexposed areas. This is the opposite to preexposed films like revolog etc., which tend to show their effects more strongly in darker areas, but this makes sense when thinking about the respective ways the images are captured. Though theoretically any filter placed near the film could degrade the image quality, I haven't noticed any significant artefacts or unsharpness, but Instax mini isn't the sort of film where this sort of thing is much of a concern anyway! The sample shots are just crudely cropped phone photos of the instax prints; unfortunately I don't have a flatbed scanner to capture them properly, but they demonstrate the effect in lighter and darker areas of the image.
