Statement Gel Liner (012, Red)

I feel like I need to press really hard and keep going back and forth with it to get enough color to show and it doesn’t last too long but many brands do not have this color which is exactly what I wanted

Did I get a dud?

I was so excited for this red eyeliner and I don't know if I got a dud or bad batch or what but mine is very dry. I have to really dig to get color payoff and tried breaking some off in hopes a better layer will be there but I am still having a hard time with it :(
