NY Spice Shop’s ginger chunks are a reminder of what ginger candy should taste like: bold, spicy, and not drowned in syrupy sweetness. They’re noticeably less sugary than many brands, though the heavy sugar coating still feels unnecessary and undermines the “healthy treat” angle. Bulk buying is a huge plus, but the 5‑lb bag arriving as one giant package was an unwelcome surprise. Clearer labeling would help. Still, in a food landscape increasingly overrun by processed, overly engineered snacks, finding a straightforward ginger product like this is becoming rare. NY Spice Shop is one of the few places keeping real ginger treats alive.
