The perfect Keyboard
This is my first experience with a customizable keyboard, and I’m very impressed with the build quality. I can’t recommend this product enough! For those who like 100% keyboards, this might be one of the best choices on the market. At first, I had some issues with the stock keycaps—possibly due to their shape—so I bought a set with a much squarer profile. I also felt that the switch were too easy to press ( Gatheron Red) so I went with some new 78g linear and that's made it perfect.

Excellent Hardware, Poor Software
Kechron makes some of the best keyboards. The Q6 offers a superb typing experience. When I recommend a keyboard to other users I will always recommend Keychron as their first choice. Whether or not you modify the keyboard is up to you. It sounds great right out of the box. The build quality is the highest you will find anywhere. The heavy weight ensures that this keyboard will never move on your desk.
I ordered my Q6 with the Gateron G Pro Brown switches. Previously, I was using a high-end keyboard with blue switches from another manufacturer. Although I really liked the sound of the blue switches, the change to brown switches has been excellent. I thought that I would always use a keyboard with blue switches, but using the Q6 has changed my mind.
The user manual is well written and easy to follow. The basic tools provided with the Q6 enable a user to modify the keyboard as desired. If you plan to make several changes, I recommend ordering dedicated tools available on the website.
As a software developer I was appalled by the VIA software. This is truly the worst software for programming keyboards. It reminds me of visiting a 1990’s website. Garish colors, user unfriendly interface, no built-in documentation. In short, it is absolutely awful and not worth using. Hopefully, Keychron will release their own dedicated application in the future.
