Wren Star Ratchet Rear Hub (190mm/197mm)

Awesome Star Ratchet… but

The star ratchet itself is excellent. Engagement is solid, reliable, and clearly suited for the torque demands of an e-bike. Before this upgrade, I experienced three breakdowns across two different bikes, all related to the original hub. Since installing the star ratchet, those issues have been resolved. My only comment is about how it’s positioned. This level of reliability should be standard. I would much rather see the bike priced slightly higher and come equipped with a hub that can handle the load from the start, instead of needing this as an upgrade afterward. The star ratchet works perfectly it just shouldn’t be optional on a Juggernaut Ultra FS Pro 3.

Somewhat disappointed

After just a few months of recreational riding, the hub in my rear wheel stripped while in the river bottom in the backcountry leaving me a very heavy bike to push, uphill to where I could drive to pick it up. Although the hub was covered by warranty, it was recommended that I upgrade the unit to avoid a similar result. The upgrade, delivery and installation at a local bike shop has now cost me nearly $500. I really love my bike but I am now gun shy about taking it into the backcountry for fear of what else has been under-spec’d on the components of my bike. In fairness, the folks at Biktrix were responsive to my inquiries but I just wish it wasn’t required.

Wren Star Ratchet is a must!

I have a Juggernaut Ultra FS Pro 3 and mainly use it off road. I should have upgraded to the Wren Star Ratchet Rear Hub right when I bought it but I didn’t. After a year off road riding I stripped the standard hub. The guys at Biktrix were awesome at getting me fixed up with a new rim with the Wren Hub laced into it. Had me back in operation in just over a week including shipping awesome job guys! The Wren Hub is a must have in my eyes for this bike especially if you use it off road like I do. Much, much stronger hub! 👍
