Stead :: Red + Chocolate

There's work to be done...

Over the years I have purchased 4 pairs of boots made by Lucchese, arguably one of the finest Western bootmakers on the planet. A pair of red and chocolate suede Steads are the latest addition to my collection. While I can without hesitation recommend Lucchese's products, I cannot say the same for their online after purchase customer service. The Steads were purchased at my customary size but the lasting of this particular model is just a hair too small for out of the carton comfort. Multiple emails were sent in an attempt to discuss the issue which were never answered or even acknowledged. After a few day's consideration (and after consulting with my local cobbler), since the sizing was only borderline too small I decided to keep the boots and have them stretched if wearing them for a few days didn't manage to remedy the problem on its own. (It turns out a slight stretch at the entry of the toe box by a professional will indeed be necessary.) Will I buy again from Lucchese? Almost certainly. But when I do, as my first experience buying online has been so disappointing, it will most assuredly be from one of their brick-and-mortar or stockist locations only.

Love these boots ... they're comfortable, look great and they're RED!
