Best cutting board…ever!

I couldn’t be more pleased with the larger Parker Asahi black cutting board. It’s got a subtle matte surface (both sides…and both sides are encouraged to be used,…not nearly as textured as the other well regarded Japanese board (beginning with an “H.” I’m guessing this will reduce surface staining potential which can be obnoxious on the “H” brand. Anyway, after a couple weeks use, no staining and a dream to use with both go-to Nakiri, an Aogami #1, and Shirogami #2, my favorite kitchen knives. The black color added a dimension of cutting clarity that surprised me; it’s much better than your run of the mill beige versions, concentrating on items under the blade, so to speak. This board gets my full endorsement and respect for Japanese cutlery high carbon steel. It should be on every home chef’s wishlist, especially if you’re an aficionado of Japanese chef knives. Great, great cutting surface.
