We love the planter and made it even better. After staining the wood, my husband added locking casters and an additional support of channel iron around the bottom. We will likely set slatted boards into the channel iron to form a shelf. We live in a wind & hail prone location and are excited at the ability to just wheel the planter into the garage during storms and over winter. Otherwise it will live on a concrete pad next to the garage.

I now have six. Little by little I am replacing the whiskey barrels. Love them. The boxes look fantastic overlooking the Hudson River and Jersey City

Very easy to assemble. Appreciate that the same size nuts and bolts are used throughout assembly. Haven’t planted yet waiting for the footing I ordered to come in so I can put casters on for easier movement on the deck. Planning on planting lettuce and herbs in September.
