I like this little scope a lot. I bought it to use with my Daystar Quark. Visually I can see the whole solar disc and photograph a larger section of the sun. I don't see any chromatic aberration because of the fpl 53 glass. The only minor thing is that the mounting ring can't be removed from the scope. I was told by Astronomics that it's on tight and can be removed but I'm afraid to force it off. Other than that it's a great little scope.

The star shapes are sharp and color correction is very good. Like the rack and pinion two speed focuser, angle adjusters is a big plus. A big plus is that it worked with a field flattener/reducer that I already own. A long vixen dovetail bar is needed because it is back heavy when camera or 2 inch diagonal is added.

While I have not used this yet, it is well made and very solid. The only thing I have done is to reverse the mounting ring to place more of the weight over the center of the tripod. Still waiting for a clear night!!!
