Great scope for the price for this size of aperture. I have not noticed any issues with chromatic abbreviations or distortion on edges. Also the 3. 2 focuser if excellent no flexing.

I was waiting for the AT102EDL, but then found out it was sold out and discontinued. So, when I saw the $300 discount on the AT115EDT, I went for it, and I am sure glad I did!! I plan to use this scope a lot for visual on my Losmandy AZ8 mount and it fits perfectly! I can already tell that I will really appreciate the added aperture up from the 102. The fully loaded OTA with rings, mounting plate, 2" diagonal, EP, and finder, comes in at around 18lbs. and well within the weight limits of the mount. The fit and finish of the OTA is great, and the 2 speed focuser is buttery smooth. I also have the AT70ED and enjoy bouncing back and forth between the two scopes. While I have not yet really pushed the mag on the 115 yet, so far at reasonable mags, I have seen no CA and stars are pinpoint. All other reviews I have seen on this scope give it high marks, and you can add mine to that list of reviews. Astronomics is awesome and I have bought from them before. Mark me down as another satisfied customer! Clear skies!. . . . . Jeff

AT115EDT - New Version
I decided to get one of these new AT115EDTs after I worked on an older one owned by a fellow CN member who lives nearby. He uses it for AP only. I did a collimation adjustment for him, and decided to investigate something I had always wondered about with these AT115EDTs. I've had a few of them over the past few years, and they really are extremely versatile scopes. I took the focuser off and made some measurements. It turns out the older AT115EDT with the 2. 5" focuser does reduce the size of the illuminated field somewhat. After I received the new AT115EDT with the larger 3. 2" "EDL-style" focuser, I wrote up a comparison of the old vs. the new focuser on CN: ***www.cloudynights.***/forums/topic/985297-at115edt-focuser-new-vs-old/ Like the previous AT115EDTs I've had, the optics are great. Collimation was right on the nose, and the scope is well-corrected for Spherical Aberration. The star test diffraction patterns on either side of focus appear very much the same. I could see no color fringing (CA) at all looking at Capella using a 3mm DeLite at 268x using a Baader 2" BBHS Silver Mirror diagonal, and with that same diagonal and a 2" eyepiece with a 46mm Field Stop I was able to get the entire Veil Nebula in the FOV. I don't do any imaging myself, buy I can say that the illuminated field with the new 3. 2" focuser is much larger than 46mm, so better imaging performance compared with the previous edition of the AT115EDT is guaranteed. The new focuser has improved internal baffling as well. Also, the "EDL-style" focuser has a feature the focusers on the previous AT115EDTs do not have. The two large silver pull screws (orange arrows in the photo) can be removed and the focuser shaft reinstalled the other way so the fine focus knob is on the left.
