Outdoor Cooking Base

It's all about the Base. . .

I paired my Steelmade cooing base with the PRO Series flat top. Love the combination. The flat top, at 3/8" thick, really anchors the base, making it a very sturdy combination. No wobble during grilling & cleanup. Seems to heat up very evenly but I haven't verified that yet with an infrared thermometer. So far I've cooked steaks, pork chops and chicken on the griddle with great results.

Great outdoor setup for the griddle.

This is my first outdoor grill so not much to compare, but I am incredibly pleased with this purchase. I already had the flattop I’d been using on my stove and this made a seamless transition to take it outside. The simplicity of the burner with manual lighting makes it feel like this setup could last forever. The burner works great, giving plenty of power to evenly heat the whole surface and the pin needle on the hose makes it easy to adjust heat level.
