This was my first super automatic and I was disappointed in the espresso quality. It was too weak for me . I am used to high end e61 machines with high end grinders. If you’re coming from this background this may not be the right machine for you . If you’re never had a high end manual machine or drink only milk based drinks this would be a great machine for you.

We recently retired our Gaggia Cadorna Prestige after 5+ years (started having brew unit issues). After thinking about what coffee drinks we made with the Prestige and that we didn’t really use the milk carafe (PITA to clean IMO), we decided to get the Magenta Super Plus. My wife makes coffee only, and I make espresso drinks. Using the steam wand to make steamed milk is so easy and keeping it clean is even easier. Also, the Super Plus has a better drip tray (larger and easier to clean) and overall I find it much easier to do the weekly cleaning of the brew unit interior area of the machine.
