Size issues

I wear a medium in Marmot and Arcteryx, but I wanted a bit more room so I ordered a large from Kuiu. The large was skin tight on my arms and very tight in my torso. I sent the jacket back and exchanged for an XL, and when the XL came it was so big it was like I was a kid wearing my parents jacket. I’m guessing the Large was sized wrong or their sizing is all over the place. I’m not sure what happened. Otherwise the quality was nice. The hand pockets are up a little high and have small openings compared to other jackets I have. I would choose the product fit too big and too small, but I can only pick one.
