Holy Basil (Tulsi)

Holy Basil grew well

I bought some Holy Basil seeds in the past and recently. I started them inside and brought them outside later. They grew very well over the summer. I dried the leaves and used them for tea during the winter. They are not perennial in my zone 6a.

First Time Sowing Holy Basil

I rated Holy Basil "3" because other basil seeds purchased through MIgardener germinated, sprouted, and look great now with very little effort. I did the same with Holy Basil and I've been challenged. I did a direct sow a week ago and some of the locations have sprouted and show signs of survival. It might be that this variety is a bit persnickety when compared to the other varieties I sowed. I'm looking forward to using this one in herbal teas and health recipes.
