Lettuce Seeds - Purple Sword Celtuce

Purple Sword Celtuce, 2025, Zone 6b

Direct-sown in a raised bed with a few seeds in each spot and every spot grew at least one plant. Shared the bed with peppers, eggplants, okra, and mini cucumbers. The celtuce did well mixed amongst the other plants, but became repeated targets for rabbits. They did regrow fairly well, but rather than attempt to protect them from repeated plundering, we opted to let them be sacrificial offerings (it worked). Will attempt again in 2026 in both a more protected area, and in a decoy garden space.
