Lite Backpack 40L

After trying several different backpack to serve as my "one bag travel system", I finally settled on Tortuga 40L Lite. This is the perfect bag, at the perfect size, at the perfect weight for the way I prefer to pack. I've tried several, this bag took my heart and it has not disappointed.

This is the Tortuga I was waiting for. My biggest complaints about most modern backpacks is they subdivide their space so much that you lose carrying capacity to 'organization features'. I like that this backpack has less built-in organization. Stowable backpack straps were also on my list of needs because sometimes you need to stow or hand off your bag to someone else and loose straps catch on things. The removable hip belt is another great feature. I wish that there was the option for water resistant zippers and sailcloth fabric on this model, but I can buy a rain cover. Overall, this bag fits my needs best out of Tortuga's offerings.

Preparation for a 12 trip to Europe

I purchased this backpack in preparation for a 12 trip to Europe. My goal was to find the largest backpack that would fit as a carry on, be lightweight and be laid out for maximum packing capabilities. I did a trial run 6 day trip and it was awesome! I loved the layout of the bag. Easy access to everything I needed. The quality of the zippers was like nothing I’ve had before. As I purchased souvenirs I was worried they wouldn’t fit in my bag! I was able to use every inch of space! I really loved the waist band straps. It made a huge difference in balancing the weight so it didn’t feel so heavy. I’ve never used anything like that before and was skeptical if it would made a difference or not! I can’t say enough about how fabulous this backpack is!
