An amazing watch that hits well above its weight class
Things I enjoy the most so far: -This is the most legible watch, period. It's more legible than my Omega Speedmaster Professional, and that is saying a lot. A quick glance is all you need to discern the time. The reason being, the people at Monta have absolutely nailed the larger indices. This has been one of my favorite features so far. -The bracelet. If you've read or watched reviews on the Skyquest, the bracelet is a key selling point, and it delivers. Easily my most comfortable bracelet. The on the fly adjustment is something that can quickly ruin other bracelets that don't have it. It's also great they give you two half links so you'll get a perfect fit. -The lume is fantastic. You can easily get the time all through the night, if need be. -The time has been surprisingly accurate. It is 5 seconds fast after 4 weeks, though ~3 seconds was from the first day or two before I started setting the watch down with the crown pointing up for the night (this position has been great for me). -The size is perfect for my 6. 5 inch wrist. The lugs are rounded but well defined, and I would say the larger bezel also helps keep the appearance smaller. -The date window at 6 o'clock is the correct answer (I really hate it when it's at 4 or 5 o'clock and the date is “crooked" when viewing). -This is the most subjective, but I love their emblem (name too for that matter). Monta’s logo looks like something that would be used to mark gold bars at a European mint. Now, I think the people who say this is on par with a Tudor are wrong, but at $2,500 it's a very compelling argument. Will it scratch the itch if you're looking for a Black Bay? Probably not. The Tudor finishing is certainly greater, but I don't think it's $2,000+ greater, not even close. If you're looking for a travel watch with some serious performance chops though (1,000 ft of water resistance makes it very robust), it would be hard to overlook the Skyquest.

Monta Skyquest-All Black
Shipping, packaging, and box were all superb. The watch itself is just beautiful. The size, finishing, weight, and quality are all superb as well. Absolutely love the watch.

Better than others costing much more
This is my second Monta. My other being an Atlas. These watches check all the boxes. These two watches have replaced others in my collection costing several thousands more. They aren’t simply a better bargain. I feel, they are better regardless. The convenience of the on the fly adjustable clasp, amazingly comfortable bracelet, robust water resistance, great legibility, applied indices and beauty of the dial, buttery smooth movement, all the while being somewhat understated. I lean towards tool watches, and both of these work great for me. I feel they are a perfect balance of being a tool watch yet not being boring in any way. Again, I’ve spent thousands more for other watches, but they NEVER checked all the boxes like these two Monta’s do.
