Frustrating to steer

I bought my Coosa last year. Likes: very stable, feel safe on northernmost Maine lakes; physical space in cockpit and storage areas, ease of clearing the propeller. Dislikes: steers like a 1940 tank, literally a hard arm workout on a short trip; it swamps...got pushed off a dock, it flipped and the body filled pretty quickly with water; you cannot access the propeller mechanism if seat too far forward as it it covers the access lid.

Jackson makes some of the best kayaks in the market… period. You won’t be disappointed. I have owned native, wilderness, and Jackson. Jackson is by far my favorite. The FD is the best pedal drive on the market. Pricey but worth it. Shipping was great with exception of tracking info. Easily corrected with a call to eco.

My first fishing kayak

So stoked on my Jackson Coosa FD! It’s extremely well built and designed meticulously. It’s got a ton of track mounts for any kind of gear you could want, and the Mark 4 peddle drive system is pretty much incredible. The steering system takes some getting use to but being able to operate it from the left and right side is great. For a wide boat at around 35 inches this thing is fast! I was cruising right along with my bro and his trolling motor at 4 mph without gassing out trying to keep up. Eco is an awesome company, any time I need help with something they get back to me asap. Had some wear on the chair during shipping they sent me a new one no problem. It’s companies like this that represent fair and honest American Commerce where you feel good about your experience and not like you took a loss.
