Comfy and Warm but NOT Waterproof

The recent East coast snow storm that blanketed NYC with more than 8 inches of snow was a perfect time to test out my new Florence boots from Orthofeet. The boots were very comfortable and warm, but absolutely NOT waterproof as advertised. After 2 hours of digging out my car, the boots were soaked all the way through both outside and inside from heel to toe, and my wool socks were completely soaked (not just damp) as well. It was quite a shock and disappointment to see how porous these leather boots are. It's probably okay for a short exposure to light snow or rain - but definitely not recommended for any length of time spent walking in deep snow or heavy rain. Two stars for comfort, though. Since I only had the boots a few weeks and only wore them twice, Orthofeet did agree to honor the free returns policy. Since i could not find a suitable alternative boot in my size, I opted to keep the Florence boots and tried applying several coats of waterproofing wax to the exterior instead. Hopefully this will do the trick Have not tested them out yet.

Practical and Comfortable

I have never had "serious" boots that were comfortable until I found these. These past several snowstorms I've put them through their paces, and they surpassed my expectations. I've replaced three pairs of other winter boots with these. I highly recommend them!
