Excellent Product / Excellent Customer Service
I've been wearing Comfort Fit Hunters for the past three hunting seasons. They're a very stable boot - great on rock and uneven/unstable terrain - I'm never concerned about rolling my ankle and never feel terrain through the sole. Although stable and rigid, they're also incredibly comfortable. Traditionally, I've worn Irish Setter, Cabelas, RedHead, Thorogood, Timberlands, etc. uplander boots. The transition to the Comfort Fit took a bit. They fit more like a mountain boot or ski boot than a work boot - and I was used to wearing work boots. Once I got used to wearing them, the issues I used to have with feet, ankle, calf, etc. pain have gone away. I put over 425 miles on my Comfort Fit Hunters during pheasant season 25/26. Covered a lot of ground, over a lot of gnarly terrain, in a lot of different weather conditions and never took a day off from my Comfort Fits.
Meindl's customer service is impressive - always helpful through issues and genuinely want their customers to be comfortable in a boot that works for them.
I've had a bit of a hard time locking in on my size. Meindl's customer service team has helped guide me along in finding the right size. The size the Brannock device suggests doesn't fit - it never has on me. I have a very wide toe with a narrow heel and measure between 10 & 10.5. I've found that 11's fit the best for me, although the 10.5's feel the best right out of the box. Over time, my boots are getting tighter and feeling smaller. I'm wearing them a lot, sometimes falling a little behind on WetProof and SportWax, and at times, putting them on a boot dryer when I've found myself in over my boots and water logged. This has caused some shrinkage and tightening of my boots, and causing the 10.5 to feel less comfortable over time. Meindl's customer service has helped guide me back into a 11 to account for this.
The ComfortFit's have not come without issue. I've had a couple pairs that have leaked. Meindl and/or Goretex have stood by their warranty, without question, every time.
