Tom Ford and I don't usually get along. This was so highly rated here and on fragrantica that I took a chance. While I can see why someone else would see this as an absolutely beautiful perfume, it's not for me. That doesn't mean that others won't find it absolutely delightful. I gave it 5 stars because I know it is a great fragrance and well blended and will make a good gift for someone to enjoy.

This is a velvety violet, iris, and suede fragrance — pleasantly retro while still being thoroughly modern. Has a sort of clean, cashmeran-like effect in the drydown that blends seamlessly with the purple florals. I can’t compare it to the original Violet Blonde, since I’ve never tried it, but I am super fond of this fragrance in its own right and have been wearing it almost everyday lately. Surprisingly, it performs well even in the heat — surprising because of the powderiness and the suede. I think thr ozonic effect of the violet keeps it from being cloying.
Since it is extrait strength, each spray leaves a visibly oily residue on the skin, so beware of spraying this on/near delicate fabrics like silk! This is is good advice for all perfume, but due to the strength of this, the effect would be even more pronounced.
This perfume is a good value—the bottle is small and portable, but it will last me a long time due to its staying power with each spray. I’d happily try more Dua fragrances based on my first purchase!
