It was good to give these a go for my ASD son - they definitely help, he didn’t like the string attached so we will try a new pair without the string Give them a go!

Flare calmer kids on lanyard

I bought them for my 5year old son who is sensitive to noise, he dislikes very loud music, vaccum or public bathroom hand dryers. I thought it might help him focus at mat times, assembly and play times at school. While initially he liked to try it, he's preferring not to wear them most of the time. I find they dont always stay in the ears either, one side tends to fall out maybe due to the lanyard pulling them loose. My husband has small ear canals and sound sensitivity and he said it does very slightly take the edge off of sounds. I think maybe these would be better suited for older children, my son might have preferred ear muffs instead. I'll keep them and maybe as he gets older he might get more use out of them.

Expensive and ineffective

At NZ$75 these are a big investment and my daughter who is noise sensitive really felt they were ineffective
