My first attempt at log cabin was made simple with this kit. The pattern from an issue of Handwoven also has a nice primer on log cabin design. The yarn was nice to work with, measured out perfectly with a bit to spare. The soumac stitch I had just learned for tapestry weaving added a nice touch. Rather than hemming the runner I hem-stitched and twisted the fringe. Warping log cabin can be a bit tricky. Handwoven ‘s pattern wasn’t as good as Jodi’s designs are at explaining warping. You might find a video helpful for that aspect. Don’t be afraid to jump in and try this kit. The runner gets lots of compliments.
