The rand makes this spray skirt so much more watertight. The small is perfect tunnel size for summer paddling.

Easy on and still dry

Great spray skirt! Easy to put on. High quality materials. I especially like the grippy area under the rand to help hold the skirt in the middle while you flip the front of the skirt over the lip of the combing. It also seems to help secure the sides of the skirt when play boating or when large waves crash on the deck.
