Very Good Quality

The quality of the materials is excellent. This isn't cheap thin aluminum. It's beefy. Looks to be 1/8th thick. My installation was on an old deck that I was redoing with new PVC decking and PVC skirt boards. So, as expected, I had to shim each bracket level and plumb. I used black PVC shims so it's almost impossible to see them with the black bracket. It was a bit time consuming, but easy if you do this type of work. As a licensed home improvement contractor, it's straight forward work. But, as a DIY product, unless the home owner is well versed in basic construction techniques, and has all the proper tools, it might be beyond their ability. But certainly not impossible if they take their time, and study the installation instructions.

A Great Engineered Product

The posts were easy to set. Then the metal railing was a bit more challenging as I did it all by myself. I had 66 runs of cable. I would increase the diameter of the set screws to 1/4 20. Those little #10 24 are too small. Anyway, it took about 50 hours to do a 40’x20’ deck with an eleven step entrance.

I installed about 200 feet of cable rail around a wrap-around deck at my house. Since I was on my own, the process took a little longer but I managed to develop a system to do one entire section from start to finish which was helpful in seeing how everything came together.
