So Pleased!
I've never ordered this type of Echinodorous before but needed something small for a 1-gallon setup. I'm beyond happy with how mine was on delivery and now growing. After only 10 days (no co2) I've gotten 3 new bronze/red leaves. Love this little plant.

Hit or Miss?
First, I love this plant. The new leaves are such a vibrant red, and the plants that have survived seem healthy. They appeared to be very strong out of the bag, but I have lost one for certain. It sprouted beautiful new leaves, then one day just turned completely brown -- the whole plant. I pulled it out and let it float for the sake of the picture so we can see the translucent leaves. But the ones that have survived, well, one looks like it's turning brown slowly, but the others are all with new leaves and doing well. I figure that this is the risk. Sometimes, a plant is DOA, and sometimes we can't see if there are any negative effects from shipping. I don't think that APF would ever send me questionable plants. In fact, they once canceled part of my order because it did not meet their standards. Thoughtful. Good business. But because I accept the risks, I have even ordered more of this cute plant. What else I like about it is that it fills up space. It's a wide, full, squat plant. I don't have to wait months like I might with a cryptocorene plant for it to fill out. Even my other echinodorus plants take time to fill out and get bushy. Not this little sucker. Broad leaves. Full. And it took one single day to see new growth in all of the reni that I ordered. Granted, some did not make it, but oh well. That's the case even if I bought them locally.

Two healthy but near rootless plants
The two plants are young and healthy, but alas, only one had a couple of short roots, one had only one short root. I hope the new growth has a reddish tint[ they arrived green. The plants are healty and I'm sure they will survive.
