Great optic for the price.
I’ll likely be inheriting a Swaro ATS 20-60x65 in the next few years, so I didn’t see a reason to shove out oodles of money on a spotter. For the price, this Vortex is hard to beat. I think the Leupold SX-2 is slightly higher quality for the price and offers 20-60 in the 60mm objective (instead of 16-48). Unfortunately, GoHunt only offered the high end spotters from Leupold at the time I had to use up my GoHunt points. But this spotter will get the job done and for your average to slightly more active Hunter, this Vortex spotter is a great option. Yes, the Swaro is clearer. Yes, the Swaro is slightly brighter. Yes, the color from the Swaro is truer. Yes, the Swaro may give you the opportunity to pick out that one animal every 100 days in the field that you only saw because you were able to differentiate between another stick in a bush and an antler at 1000 yards. But this should do just fine for the vast majority of hunters looking to extend their glassing range.
