Degrading plastic mulch

Purchased the roll a few weeks ago but with all the rain had to wait to get it laid with my mulch layer. It is thin but that is what I ordered. Held up so far.

I ordered a similar biomulch a few years ago and this product is an improvement over the previous mulch I ordered. That being said, I use it for pumpkins, which are a 4 month crop. The previous mulch lasted about a week to 2 at the most before becoming full of holes and not functioning anymore. This newer mulch lasted 3-4 weeks before getting too many holes in it. I think that a thicker product would work better. If it lasted 2-3 months without ripping that would be perfect.
