Expensive and frustrating

I had high hopes for these nippers. It all sounds great on paper but in practice not so great. The nippers cut ok. Not any better than good cheap nippers. The lack of stated warranty is concerning. Are the jaws self replaceable or do we send them in? What about alignment? The magnets to keep to keep the jaws open are really frustrating. Everything on or in the vest that is metal attaches itself, which is just about everything. The eye cleaner point is not sharp or delicate enough to clear and hook eyes smaller than 18 and the location is awkward to use. The hook eye threader is another function that works in theory but not in practice. At a tying desk with a bare hook, no wind, and new dry fresh tippet it’s a dream. On the water with and wind and small flies and any fly with hackle near the eye like parachutes is about near impossible. Likes: looks nice. They cut tippet but not like butter, just like nippers should. Oh yeah, it’s Simms right!?! Cons: see above, expensive.
