Love it but runs small

We ordered up a size (kiddo is 39” and 36lb and got size 4/5). It fits great now, didn’t shrink is the wash, but would be very tight at the top of the size range, maybe more like a true legging than a pant. The cotton fabric has a good medium weight that feels like it’ll hold up to play. Our kid loves the rainbow stripes.
