Clear MG IS FANTASTIC

The Clear MG sounds excellent and exciting. I listen to various music and it presents itself very clean and detailed. Be sure to also have a good amp to drive it.

Focal Clear MG

My primary setup is the Sennheiser HD800S paired with the HDV 820, which I find to be an excellent setup for classical and Jazz work . The detail retrieval and soundstage are exceptional, but for rock and pop the presentation can feel a bit too analytical. I purchased the Focal Clear MG to fill that gap, and it delivers exactly what I was looking for—punchy, engaging bass with a satisfying sense of slam, along with strong, forward vocals and good instrument separation. The overall presentation is much more energetic and fun. That said, the HDV 820 isn’t the best match for the Clear MG; the pairing comes across slightly too warm and a bit noisy at times, though still enjoyable. With the right amplifier, I think the Clear MG can sound better.
