Complicated… but in a good way

I love berry teas. One of my favorites in my tea cabinet is a simple elderberry and hibiscus blend, and I’ve been coming back to that one for years now. I do love to try new things, though, and I couldn’t resist giving Briar Patch Brew a go. I’m so glad I did! This blend has a complexity of flavor that my simple go-to lacks. The difference between the two is similar to the difference in my two favorite lattes. Most days I go for a simple almond milk latte with a little stevia, but occasionally I like to sprinkle a little cinnamon on top of the foam and enjoy the extra depth of flavor that it contributes. That’s what the lemongrass and sage seem to do for the hibiscus, berries, and currants in this one. They add depth and a sort of tart coolness that this tea wouldn’t otherwise have. I’ve been drinking it iced without sweetener, and it has been a great way to take the edge off of the ratcheting heat here in Florida. I’m definitely adding this blend into the regular rotation.

This is a wonderful blend for an afternoon cup. It tastes like it came straight off the bramble bush.
