UltaMid 2 Half Insert

Pretty good!

Nice and light. Won’t pitch perfectly most of the time - mine was almost like a hammock inside the UltaMid. Would be greatly improved by attachment points midway along the long sides, for the Mid pole inside, and for the midway pullout of the Mid on the outside. Anyway, keeps the bugs out, plus some of the dirt, and stays out of your face. Hard to get the shock cords at the peak through the small loops at the apex of the Mid. I added two mini biners to ease that process. If there’s a chance of rain you’ll want to pitch it at the back, not on one of the sides as shown online. Then you have a palatial vestibule. Beware of snagging the netting in the door zippers. Holes on the netting will (and did) result. UltaMid 2 with half inner, fiber center pole, and enough stakes to be secure in the wind, 3 lbs 2 oz.

Great material but make sure you pay attention when your buying this you have to buy the sticks and tarp separately

Great addition

Fits in my old Black Diamond mega-mid tent just fine. It is lighter than my previous ground sheet and bivisack arrangement, and with more protection! The top flat portion works well as a storage shelf, >IF< you add a little 2"net-wall as a keeper. The bottom wall will stay up when unzipped >IF< you sew in a little ring to tie to the pole right there. Overall, a vast improvement in my gear!
