The knife itself is extraordinary, very sharp as advertized, and has a heft in the hand unlike others. I plan to use it for both meat and vegetables. Unfortunately, the large cardboard box package in which my two knives were shipped had NO cushioning. Hence, one knife case came loose during shipment. That knife was tossed around and lost some sharpness both at the tip and along its bottom edge. I am unhappy about the shipping method, not the knife itself.
