I like the versatility.

The Positive: Great material. I usually opt for Turkish cotton towels, because they’re light to pack (especially if you have a large size) - they dry quickly, and the tight weave lets you shake sand right off. I’m normally not a fan of synthetic/plastic materials, but I couldn’t find a good quality Turkish cotton poncho/towel combo for surfing and getting in/out of my wetsuit. Also, this isn’t a piece of clothing that I’m going to spend all day in. This one is really nice and does what it’s supposed to, and the size is great for me (6ft, 250lbs). I also love the “Pinner” stripe pattern. The Not-so-great: the head hole is so small (for me). Admittedly, I’m a bigger guy and have a slightly larger head than average (size 7 3/4 baseball cap), but this is a poncho, not a fitted garment. My girlfriend is 5’5” and 130lbs and has a much smaller head, and she also found it to be somewhat tight and constricting for her. I wish it had a nice wide/v-shaped open neck like other ponchos I have, or at least the ability to open it up if needed. I took it to my local alterations spot and paid like $20 to have them undo the overlapped hood and open up the collar; no big deal to greatly improve the ease and functionality for me. I almost took off another star because I’m not crazy about the magnets on the side; they stick to my truck and other metal stuff nearby, but that’s a minor gripe compared to the tiny neck hole, and I thought 3 stars was overly harsh compared to how nice I find the quality, functionality and style. Overall, I know you can’t please everyone, and it’s a great product that I would recommend to others, especially when compared to similar things I’ve seen and used.
