I should not have bought this pack
Michael · August 5, 2024
It's a pack! No, it's a vest! No, it's a glove!
Very comfortable; limited volume, obviously. Good for fastpacking/trailrunning in mild weather. Chose to use it for the Torres del Paine W route in preference to ZPacks Nero 38, Hyperlite Southwest 2400, and Hyperlite Metro (the closest in volume). Biggest negative is lots of dangling strap ends, in particular from the triple straps that hold the top of each shoulder strap. The three sternum straps are fiddly, especially with cold fingers: the hardware is tiny (but light!). But the pack is great for trail dancing: really moves with you, even when you run. I haven't quite dialed in the organization yet. Because the triple sternum straps make it a little time consuming to don and doff, would be nice to have even more storage on the straps, e.g., for water filter. Straps are set up well for GPS, compass, water bottle, trowel, a small snack, etc.

Very nicely done
I bought the 16" vest straps and attached them to the 14" backpack (I'm 4'10") and it's just right. I love how adjustable they are and how well they distribute the load so that it feels like there is nothing on my shoulders. Such a lightweight system and great for a short person. I have a custom made pack by Matt at Red Paw Packs and absolutely love it but this is my second favorite.
